Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor-II Pro (Sunburst)

The Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor II Pro Archtop electric guitar is a legendary guitar that is inspired by the favourite model of the player with the same name. Exquisite attention to detail ensures that Jazz enthusiasts everywhere will fall in love with this beautiful instrument.

Pass' legacy doesn’t just lie in the awesome fretwork laid down during recordings with some of Jazz' biggest names - including Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, and Oscar Peterson to name but a few -, but also for his dedication to music, and peerless inventiveness of his playing.

When compared to Epiphone's earlier archtop models, the Joe Pass Emperor II Pro may be a touch smaller, but features the same laminated maple body with select spruce top. The maple back and sides produces a sweetness that generates a healthy energy thanks to the archtop body shape. The select spruce top rounds out the upper frequencies whilst softening the fat midrange warmth and the lightweight body is very comfortable to play.

The hand-set maple neck has a generous 24.75" scale length, with a SlimTaper "C" profile that enables a smooth, fast-playing style, perfect for executing intricate technique. Married to the neck is a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard that carries stunning mother-of-pearl block position inlays. The headstock bears the awesome Epiphone "Tree of Life" design, as well as a signature "Joe Pass" truss rod cover.

In order to guarantee that the Emperor II Pro's tonal dexterity meets the requirements of Pass, Epiphone installed Burstbucker 2 and 3 pickups. The gold covered humbuckers are controlled using the individual volume and tone pots for each pickup, as well as a 3-way pickup selector switch.

The neck pickups deliver smoky tones that are perfect for Jazz. Combining the characters of both pickups at the same time gives a wonderfully balanced output that is great for chunky Blues' licks. The bridge pickup puts greater emphasis on the bite and sizzle produced by the highs, great for country players too.

The gold pickup covers are offset beautifully by the tortoiseshell-style pickguard with historic metal "E". String intonation is maintained via the ornate pairing of the floating rosewood bridge, and gold vintage-style scroll trapeze tailpiece. The gold Grover Rotomatic 18:1 gear ratio tuning machines firmly secure your tuning during performances, but when needed, adjustment is simple yet precise.

The Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor II Pro Archtop electric guitar is a brilliant example of the level of professional quality guitar that Epiphone can produce. Whether you're just starting out, or have decade's worth of gigging experience under your belt, the Emperor II Pro will blow your mind.
