Epiphone Masterbilt Century F-Hole Zenith Classic - Vintage Sunburst

The Masterbilt Zenith Classic Acoustic/Electric Guitar is a medium-sized archtop with an arched Solid Spruce top with traditional Longitudinal Bracing, a laminated Flame Maple body, and classic f- holes. Epiphone's first Masterbilt archtops quickly rose to popularity during the 1930s 'Big Band' era and were renowned for their warm woody tone, wide tonal range and punchy volume. This has a very small lacquer crack on the back of the body, hence the special price.

Product Description

Epiphone Masterbilt Century Zenith Classic - Vintage Sunburst

Epiphone were a huge name in the archtop world back in the 1930's. They created some incredible guitars that could be played in a way that they can be heard even with horn and string sections. Now they are bringing back these designs as part of the Masterbilt collection. The Zenith Classic is an F hole fitted archtop guitar that mixes a classic build with modern hardware for great live use.

Classic Design

The Epiphone Zenith really does have a classic look about it. With a pair of f holes in the solid Spruce top this guitar matches that beautiful mid sized acoustic sound of the original designs. It is not all aesthetic though with the Zenith having vintage Logitudinal bracing which gives it a very different feel and response to modern X bracing inspired designs.

Natural Pickup Sound

While back in the 30's this design would have been loud enough to have been heard over any other band that is not the case anymore. Now you need to be amplified for pretty much every venue so Epiphone hid a very powerful Sonic HD Preamp with Nanoflex HD Pickup in this guitar so you can use it live without having all kinds of controls popping out of the side of your guitar.

Both the volume and tone controls are hidden in the lower F hole so you can use your guitar live with easy access to your controls. This setup sounds great through both an acoustic amp or a PA system meaning you can rock up to any gig and get an astounding sound.
