Product Description

Fender 2018 Limited Edition ‘51 Telecaster PJ Bass Guitar - BGB

The Fender 2018 Limited Edition ‘51 Telecaster PJ Bass Guitar in BGB pairs a time-honoured classic with modern tone and awesome playability to create a superb model that both purists and newcomers will love.

Vintage vibes

The PJ bass has been a favourite amongst players since its introduction, thanks in no small part to its effortless playing feel. The slender body pairs with sleek curves to create a delightfully snug playing feel, and is equally as comfortable whether played seated or standing. The deep double-cutaways allow your fretting hand to reach the highest frets with the greatest of ease.

Crafted using ash, the body is afforded a healthy mid- to low-end tonal foundation. The lightweight feel belies the impressive tonality and resounding sustain. Finished in an understated paint job that is preserved using gloss nitrocellulose lacquer and paired with a single-ply pickguard, the limited edition '51 Tele PJ bass is every bit as cool as you would expect it to be.

Supportive maple neck

Paired with the body is a sturdy and reliable maple neck, which is shaped to the American Vintage "1963 C" profile along a generous 34-inch scale length. The satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish prevents unwanted tackiness from impeding your movement for the smoothest of performances. Married to the neck is a maple fingerboard, which is home to 20 narrow tall frets that pair sweetly with the flatter 9.5-inch radius to promote seamless string bends and precise technique. Black dot position inlays provide a stark contrast to the brighter maple, guiding your way in style.

Classic PJ pickups

The '51 Telecaster PJ Bass is equipped with a Fender Custom Shop '60s split single-coil Precision Bass pickup in the middle position, and a Custom Shop '60s single-coil Jazz Bass pickup in the bridge position. The established PJ pairing draws out the rich tones provided by the tonewoods to giving a thunderous energy with exquisite articulation. Chrome dome dual-concentric volume controls and a master tone control allow you to sculpt the output with precision.

Gig-ready appointments

The body is equipped with a 4-saddle HiMass vintage-style bass, which anchors each string securely to optimise intonation and sustain. The headstock bears Fender lightweight vintage-style keys with tapered shafts that secure tuning throughout the most enthusiastic of performances.

Each Fender 2018 Limited Edition ‘51 Telecaster PJ Bass Guitar in BGB is supplied with an elite mouldedcase, and strung with Fender USA strings to get you off to a flying start.
