High-Grade Finish & Playability
Since the first-gen Rapiers could be notoriously unreliable
and a little awkward in terms of playability, the modern
incarnation of the Rapier Saffire twelve-string has been given a
solid okoume body and a Canadian maple neck with a C-carve and 12
inch radius rosewood fretboard. The twenty-two jumbo frets and
slightly wider 49mm nut lighten the feel beneath the fret-hand even
further, while allowing enough space for twelve-string chord and
riff work. Topping it off, superior sustain, intonation and tuning
is assured by a High Spec Roller bridge, a Graph Tech Nubone nut
and a set of Wilkinson E-Z-Lok machine heads.
Modern Innovation Meets Throwback Style: The ATN5
Switch
Just like the six-string edition, the Rapier Saffire is voiced
by three exclusively designed Alan Entwistle Custom Wound
Astrosonic low-noise single-coils that spit full, dynamic and
powerful sound that can be varied at will via the five-way selector
switch. Tweak the result via the Volume and Tone pots before
hitting the ATN5 Switch. This special Varitone-esque switch flips
between three different sound profiles: a sweet mid-boost; a lush
acoustic-style output; or the authentic sixties-style chime you can
hear on every record from the The Byrds to The Beatles.
